Meet the Founder

Most people call me Al. I started Sol Media in 2018, right after college, and have spent the years since helping founder-led businesses and mission-driven organizations grow through strategic social media and content systems. I'm based in Northern New Jersey and powered by sourdough and good community.

During my senior year of college, I was working on a startup my friends and I built together in the dessert and snack food space. I was responsible for all of the marketing, and we just happened to go viral on campus. That was my first real exposure to the power of social media…not just as a creative outlet, but as a tool that could actually have an impact on a business. Quickly.

After graduation, that startup came to an abrupt end following a cease & desist order from The Lord of the Rings (story for another time). I knew if I wanted to keep living in Washington, DC, I needed to figure out how to make money quickly. So I leaned into the one skill I knew worked: social media.

My cousin gave me my first freelance opportunity, and somewhere between creating content, learning platforms in real time, and helping brands show up more clearly online, I realized I genuinely loved this work. Clients grew steadily through word of mouth and referrals, and freelancing evolved into Sol Media. Over the years, Sol Media has supported dozens of founder-led service businesses and mission-driven organizations, helping them move from scattered, inconsistent content to clear positioning, stronger engagement, reliable leads, and sustainable growth through strategic systems.

I'm based in Northern New Jersey and deeply connected to my church and local community. Outside of work, I'm usually baking sourdough, running, writing music or singing, or spending time with friends and family.
